Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and MissFits BootCamp Team Up
This year The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Rehabilitation Department has partnered with MissFits Boot Camp to host their 2018 High School Summer Conditioning Camp. The Camp will be held on Wednesdays from 11am-12pm. Dates are as follows:
July 11th, 18th, 25th, & August 1st, 8th, and 15th
Regarding the team up, “The key to success in athletics is participating in a broad range of activities and hard work in the off-season. A specialized blend of exercises will improve performance and instill a solid exercise foundation in those who attend. With that, I’m proud to announce that our venue this year will be at MissFits Boot Camp,” said CHH Athletic Program Director Amanda Hill.
MissFits Boot Camp employs cutting-edge functional fitness tools and programming designed to improve fitness and performance across the entire spectrum of potentiality. Everything gets better! The Workout, which changes weekly, is a total body metabolic strength, cardio, and core conditioning workout using programming designed to improve strength, power, speed, agility, stamina, coordination, endurance. Check out the pictures taken at the sample workout provided to interested students.
Each session will be conducted by a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer from Charlotte Hungerford Hospital along with Staff Members from MissFits Boot Camp. Beginners, as well as athletes, are encouraged and welcome to attend. Sessions are conducted in a group manner with Trainers focusing on making sure students are working at their correct ability level in an encouraging manner. Student movement skills are constantly being assessed and every student is trained on an individual basis while maintaining a team atmosphere.
Additionally, other various state-of-the-art technologies are employed. One such system is the PerformanceIQ System which provides for Real Time Heart Rate Variability Training. This is just one tool in the ample tool box that MissFits makes use of. Basically, Students will experience the latest and greatest in fitness innovation.

You will alternate between 26 seconds of work and 13 seconds of rest for 6 sets at each exercise station with 20 seconds of rest and transition between stations. Start at any exercise location and follow the rotation. LIMIT 4 PER STATION. Each workout session at MissFits Boot Camp is based on the latest exercise research, focusing on functional fitness and contemporary metabolic training fitness programming methodologies. This method of training has proven itself to be the absolute best for fat burning, and strength and sports conditioning results.
A MissFits group personal fitness training session uses a variety of equipment including classic methodologies such as body weight exercises, free weights, resistance bands, battle ropes, suspension trainers, ultimate sand bags, kettlebells, stability and med balls, and the like, including the use of cutting edge tools such as S-Drive Performance Trainers, Body Activation Systems, Gladiator Walls, Bulgarian Bags, and Rip Trainers, that round out our training tool arsenal.
In all we take advantage of nearly three dozen training systems in our workout program design here in this Torrington gym. What we do is optimize each one of those systems, take the very best from each one and as use it as a tool to provide the best workout ever. Most likely, you haven’t even heard of most of those training systems.
Not to worry, our job is not only to put together the most effective workout possible, but to put together that workout in the most fun manner that guides you every step of the way so that anyone can do it.
MissFits workouts change continually and you will never repeat the same workout twice. Exercise Science dictates that we follow a periodization schedule to provide maximum effectiveness and prevent staleness thereby crushing plateaus. In other words, we don’t just throw a bunch of exercises at the wall and see what sticks… there is a method to our madness.
This is possible because we are experts at exercise progressions, regressions, and modifications and we are to meet each individual right where they are fitness-wise. That is why this IS personal training. We’ll get to know you, and you will get to know all the rest of us! This is a family!
Here is a peek inside this Torrington Gym. Our Coaches demonstrate each exercise During each group personal training sessions, but do not workout with you, as is the case with most big-box gym exercise “classes” as if you’ve learned anything.
This allows the Coach to be closely involved in helping you perform the exercise properly, while providing motivation and encouragement. This not only protects you from hurting yourself with improper movement, it insures you get the most out of your workout.
It’s just like hiring a personal trainer – which is very expensive. However, in a group environment, you receive that personal training at a fraction of the cost of hiring a personal trainer. It’s the best Value in a Torrington gym that you are going to find!
